A unified approach to q-difference equations of the Laplace type

We propose a unified approach to q-difference equations, which are
degenerations of basic hypergeometric functions 2phi1. We obtain a list
of seven different class of q-special functions, including two types of
the q-Bessel functions, the q-Hermite-Weber functions, two different
types of the q-Airy functions. We discuss a relation between this
unified approach and particular solutions of the q-Painleve equations.
