**IMI Workshop on Optimization in the Real World** **– Toward solving real world optimization problems –** URL: http://imi.kyushu-u.ac.jp/lasm/opt2014/index.html **Aim**： - Optimization is not only a scientific field in Mathematics and Computer Science, but also strongly connected with the real world, especially the industrial activity. Many optimization problems in the real world are not often solvable because they are the huge scale and/or contain other essential difficulties. However, some of such optimization problems are getting solvable by recent envelopment of computing and optimization technologies.
- The aim of this international workshop is to provide opportunity to communicate with researchers who deal with optimization problems in the real world, and to stimulate novel and innovated development on optimization technology. We hope an international joint research and/or collaboration with academic and industry from this communication.
