I have studied integrable systems, discrete differential geometry and applied physics using the elliptic theta functions. Specifically, I have studied elastic curves and their discrete analogues, Kaleidocycle and classical nucleation theory. I studied astronomy as an undergraduate and was fascinated by the world of nonlinear differential equations, which led me to jump into the world of mathematics from my Master’s degree. So I understand the excitement of applying mathematics and the difficulties of learning abstract theories.
