First, Dr. Kawamae told us the following: Generative AI is often considered to be the latest technology at the forefront of our era, but some key technologies are already known ones; essential theories of those technologies are not yet clear. Then, he mentioned that mathematical knowledges could lead generative AI to clarify its background and theory. Next, after introducing required mathematical knowledges, he touched on the representation learning, the structure of generative AI, and the learnings and applications of generative AI. Finally, he mentioned that generative AI and deep learning, which describes generative AI, is still on the development stage, that generative AI is based on known perspectives such as backpropagations, and that generated AI currently includes yet human elements not to be well explained. Through the presentation, I understand the utilization of the background and the progress of the technologies could be hoped to apply mathematical knowledges.
