Title :
Geometric toys from mathematics

Abstract :
Geometry is full of figures, and their realization as real objects is both educational and beautiful. Also, things that move or transform have potential as kinetic art. In this lecture, I will introduce toy-like objects that transform and move based on the torus, polyhedron, Lissajous curves, etc. Many of them have been created by the speaker for more than 20 years. I would also like to exhibit the objects introduced in the lecture and demonstrate how they move and transform.

【Notice】 Mr. Akira Nishihara, who will give a lecture at the May Colloquium (May 10, Wed.), will exhibit his geometric toys.＜http://www1.ttcn.ne.jp/a-nishi/index.html＞ Demonstrations will be held from 12:00 to 14:00, so feel free to join us with lunch in hand.
