Professor Michitaka Hirose from University of Tokyo gave a colloquium talk under the title “VR: Media of experience and visualization”. Starting from a brief historical introduction to the idea of VR (virtual reality), he explained several characteristics of the VR technology as “media of experience and visualization” including very recent outcome from the speaker’s laboratory. The talk as well as the nature of the VR technology inspire a possibility of collaboration with fundamental science including mathematics.
