Introduction to combinatorial phylogenetics

Speaker : Ms. Momoko HAYAMIZU (Research Organization of Information and Systems)

Place : IMI Auditorium (W1-D-413) (4F, West Zone 1, Kyushu University)

The speaker explained the origin and development of the tree of life theory from viewpoints of biology, discrete and pure mathematics. Based on it, the speaker introduced her research which generalizes the tree metric theory from the viewpoint of the distance on the finite sets, and its realization as graphs.
