Dr. Matsutani works as Manager of Mathematical Engineering Dept. 3, Simulation & Analysis R&D Center, Canon Inc. He showed us how mathematics is used in the research and development of Canon. He told us electrical conductivity of percolation systems and an algorithm in the computational fluid dynamics next. Because he commented on how mathematics is useful clearly in the spot of the manufacturing, there were active arguments in the question and answer session.
